Sally the Singer
Back in January, I added a new (to me) sewing machine to my collection. Ok, well, not much of a collection… I only had a Kenmore sewing machine and a White serger… but this baby is by far the coolest. It’s a Singer 15-91 and was made in the 50’s.

I finally found a place for it in the studio… but I have actually moved it from this spot since I took the picture. It was in good shape when I got it, but it needed a good cleaning, oiling and greasing. The lady I got it from seemed surprised that I was actually going to sew with it. I mean, that’s what you do with a sewing machine, isn’t it?

Ain’t it purdy? Yeah, the outside was actually in great shape…just a bit of rust on the metal parts. I’m glad I didn’t have to do any rewiring or anything!

I love the look of the old singer machines!
My great grandmother’s old Singer 99-13 from 1930 is still in GREAT shape as well and works beautifully. Have fun with it, I’m sure you’ll really enjoy your new machine.

Cool! Yeah, they seem to hold up for years and years… and they are just a beauty to look at!

That is what I sew on. At least very similar. I think mine was made in 1947. I love it. There is nothing like sewing on an old singer.
